IMPORTANT
NOTES FOR TLC FAMILIES:
Pick
up for all students is at the Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company
tomorrow between 12:00-12:15.
Reminder:
There is no school on Friday!
Parent-teacher
conference sign-up sheets are now posted on the bulletin board
outside the office. Please
come in to sign up, rather than calling the office.
Thanks!
As we end of the end of the year, please look through the books in
your home and return any that belong to TLC.
These should be marked with the TLC logo on the inside
cover. Having all our
books returned will save the school a lot of money!
The
middle school exams will be held next Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday.
Parents,
we have heard from many of you that our first day of school being
in late August can be challenging since many of the summer day
camps have ended due to the public schools starting in mid-August.
We would be willing to investigate creating a summer camp
option for the week before TLC begins at the Nature Center, High
Flight Gym, etc. if there is enough interest.
If you would like to have this option for your child and
would like for us to look into it, please let us know by Monday
the 12th. Thanks!
You
are invited to a special presentation on Thursday, May 15 from
8:30 to 9:15 at the Grey Eagle next door. The 6/8 guitar class
will perform both acoustic and electronic music, followed by a
presentation by Savannah Tracy, Sierra Pierce, Carson Shore, and
Emily Soule about the service learning project that they designed
and implemented this year. Come on over for coffee after dropping
off your kids!
We are
now taking orders for The Wizard of Oz performance DVDs. Please
find the order form in your plastic Wednesday folder.
Orders are due by Monday, May 12.
Attention
alternate deposit payment plan folks….
Your second installment of the deposit is due on June 1.

Dear
parents,
We can’t thank you all enough for the wonderful Staff
Appreciation Day yesterday. From
the food, flowers, written appreciations, and chair massages, we
couldn’t have asked for a more heartfelt occasion.
We all felt honored, and we’re still enjoying the treats
today!

A
HUGE thank you to Leah
Stickels for being the TLC mail gal yet again this year!
Leah has taken the outgoing mail and picked up the mail
from the post office box all year long for the 10th
year in a row! Way to
go, Leah!
-Ms.
Holly
Thanks
to Minda Burroughs for
making an emergency stop to pick up toner for the TLC copy machine
last Wednesday.
-Ms.
Anne
What
a wonderful community May Day celebration last week.
Thanks to Susan Dannenberg, Jill Smith,
Joyce Hunter, and the 4/5
class parents who helped put this event together.
Our violinists, Gennie
Bassett, Mira Carlinnia, Journey Dreyer,
Avia Gralnick, and
Elizabeth Smith, provided beautiful music for our May Day
celebration. It was a
great way to welcome spring!
-Leah Stickels
A
big brag goes to Amelia
Shore for getting all her homework for the week done early for
the third week in a row! She
said, “If you work ahead, you don’t have to work as hard the
next week.” You got
it, girl!
-Ms.
Rhea
Thank
you to our creative authors
and musicians for
entertaining the TLC community at the final Author’s Party of
the year. Also, thanks
to the 6/8 families for providing scrumptious snacks for our gathering.
